Photo-a-day #321: November 17, 2011 - Split Lip Rayfield

Photo-a-day #321: November 17, 2011 - Split Lip Rayfield

Nothing says 'redneck' like 1-string bass guitar made out of an old 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis gas tank and a weed-whacker string. That's exactly what Split Lip Rayfield bassist Jeff Eaton plays, but you wouldn't guess by the sound that comes out of this highly skilled bluegrass trio. I've seen these guys before and they always draw a nice (albeit, strange) crowd.

Check out my other shots from the show here.
