Photo-a-day #39: February 8, 2011 - Dog days of Winter

Photo-a-day #39: February 8, 2011 - Dog days of Winter

When I got home from work today, it was 3 degrees Fahrenheit out... Not really the type of weather beckoning you to go out and shoot a bunch of pictures.

My 4.5 lb. Chihuahua, Pepe also has no interest in going outside in this weather (or anything under 70 degrees). He is quite content staying inside, even while I got right in his face to take this picture.

How I shot this: There is very little post-processing done with this photo, as it was shot w/ a Lensbaby Composer. (Usually, you can see how I shot each photo if you mouse over the picture and choose the little 'i' button, but with a Lensbaby, there is usually more going on...)

As such is the case with this photo, I shot this wide open, which on the Lensbaby is f2, along with the +4 lens of the Macro kit, the 1.6x Telephoto Lens and the Plastic Optic, which is my favorite one. If you have a Canon DSLR and want a fun way to get creative inside when it's freezing out, the Lensbaby is a good way to go (and if you don't want to buy all that stuff, you can get the Lensbaby Muse for only $99, but it's a little tougher to use).
