Up in the UP for a long weekend. The locale is Eagle River, Michigan in the glorious yet sparsely populated Keweenaw county. It's always interesting visiting a place that had more population 150 years ago than today, as is the case with this former copper mining territory.

The Evergreen cemetery, established in 1843, is just out of town with many of the 'residents' having died while working the various copper mines in the area. Creepy.
